hey guys. (please take the time to read.)
so i just finished reading i dared to call him father by bilquis shiekh.
it was for a class but it was such a fantastic read. she talks a lot about giving up things and weaning yourself off of things of the world so you can get closer to Jesus. becoming totally dependent on him, and not letting anything else distract you.
she shows obedience throughout the book.. being faithful to let go of everything Jesus wanted her to let go of, and even though it’s hard she did so faithfully. i want to follow that example, and so dear friends, i will not be active on tumblr.
i’m not sure how long, and i’m not sure if i’ll fully delete it, but for right now at least it has got to go. as much as it breaks my heart to say it, i’m more faithful in finding time for tumblr than finding time for Jesus.
i don’t think i’ll fully delete it, because i think when used in the right way tumblr can be a great way to encourage others in their faith and be a light shining in a sometimes very dark place. so i’ll probably be back some day, but my blog will definitely be different. more focused on my Jesus.
i’ll be leaving it up for a couple more days in case you wanna drop me a goodbye message in my ask. i will certainly miss my tumblr buddies but i need to be closer to Jesus, and this is a tangible way of achieving that.
i challenge you to get a copy of i dared to call him father and take some time to evaluate what is taking place before Jesus in your own life.
